NMJ Superline Exhbition Model NSB Steam locomotive Type 29 Nr. 309

Superdetailed hand made brass Exhibition model of the NSB Type 29 with all details in the version from 1920. Lighted top lamp. RP wheels and inside steering and cab interior mounted. Exact in HO 1:87.Only 30 models in a limited one time production.

NSB type 29/39 was the strongest steam freight locomotive in Norway and constructed for the heavy iron ore trains on the Iron Ore line between Narvik and the boarder to Sweden. Totally 7 locomotives were delivered by Hamar Jernstøberi from 1913-1920.

Type 29 had axel arrangement of 0-E and a length of 18255mm. The weight was 123,4 tons, with a max speed of 40 km/h later 45.

After the electrification of the Iron Ore Line in 1923 the locomotives was sent to the NSB network in the south and used in heavy freight on the Bergen line and Østfold line. After the electrification of the Østfold line in 1940 the 166-168-170-308 were rebuilt to type 39 by mounting a running wheel in the front and move the boiler forwards in order to balace them down to 15 tons axel load down, this in order to be allowed on the Bergen line.

Last type 39 was taken out of service and replaced with the new Di3 Nohabs in 1963.
