20 M61 lok were built by Nohab for MAV in 1963-1964. Used mostly in passenger trains all over Hungary. They were repainted in the new orange colour scheme from the end of 1970s. Many of the M61 locomotives are preserved, such as M61.01, M61.10, M61.017 and M61.20.
